Senior Procurement Engineer

Reports to: Strategic Procurement Manager (Head Office) and Production Manager (Factory)

As a Procurement Manager, you will manage the procurement of materials and services for volumetric modular construction projects. This includes subcontracted steel structures, MEP components, and electrical systems. Your role involves overseeing procurement activities, supplier relationships, and cost optimization to support project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Procurement:
    • Coordinate with project managers to understand project requirements.
    • Procure materials, components, and services from subcontractors.
    • Manage the procurement process from selection to delivery.
    • Ensure materials and equipment meet project timelines.
    • Collaborate with internal departments for seamless subcontractor integration.
  • Subcontractor Relationship Management:
    • Maintain relationships with steel fabricators, MEP contractors, and electrical suppliers.
    • Monitor and address subcontractor performance issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
    • Assist in negotiating contracts with favorable terms for the company.
  • Cost Optimization:
    • Analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
    • Collaborate with teams to optimize subcontracting processes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Assess and mitigate risks related to subcontractor performance, material shortages, and project delays.
    • Implement measures to enhance subcontractor performance and minimize risks.
  • Team Support:
    • Support the procurement team in executing subcontracting activities.
    • Collaborate with the Strategic Procurement Manager in mentoring the team.
    • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation and subcontractor relationship management skills.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, steel fabrication, MEP components, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems and e-procurement platforms.
