Our client, a leading international property services company, is seeking a driven and experienced Legal Manager to join their team.
Role Summary:
The Legal Manager will provide comprehensive legal advice, focusing on business needs while ensuring compliance and risk management. This role involves leading legal initiatives, managing legal risks, and working closely with various departments to identify and mitigate potential legal challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as in-house legal counsel, advising leadership on all legal matters and managing legal risks across the organization.S
- Provide legal assistance in the preparation of opinions, reports, and other legal documentation.
- Oversee responses to legal notices and assign cases to external counsel based on complexity and significance.
- Supervise legal proceedings, coordinate with panel lawyers, and liaise with courts and government legal officers.
- Conduct legal research, analyze key legal issues, and advise departments on emerging trends to prevent litigation.
- Develop and implement corporate risk management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, partners, and clients to mitigate legal risks.
- Collaborate with the sales team to assess contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Review and draft major contracts, tender documents, and legal agreements as required.
- Ensure proper contract management, including database entry and secure maintenance.
- Lead employee training on organizational policies and compliance.
- Oversee adherence to ISO standards and drive ethics and business compliance initiatives within the organization.
- Advise leadership on local business ethics and compliance matters, ensuring alignment with the company’s global compliance programs.
- Report compliance progress and issues to the divisional compliance officer and manage internal investigations as needed.
Qualifications:
- A qualified lawyer with over 10 years of corporate legal experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in client and leadership interactions.
- Proven ability to resolve complex legal issues without external counsel.
- Deep understanding of compliance laws, regulations, and risk management.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
