Our client specializes in the design, manufacture and delivery of volumetric modular units focused on the hospitality, residential, student accommodation and specific high value custom projects.
Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will oversee financial operations within the manufacturing department. Will be responsible for managing the accounting team and ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and maintaining financial controls. Additionally, the Financial Controller will provide periodic updates and collaborate with the General Manager/Director as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation of financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Review and approve journal entries and financial transactions.
- Analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts, providing insights to management.
- Develop and implement accounting processes and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and support decision-making.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Coordinate and support external audits, providing required documentation and information.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee proper depreciation calculations.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting as required by management.
- Mentor and develop accounting Stat, fostering a high-performing team culture.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- More than 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Prior experience in cost accounting and inventory management is desirable.
